About me
To whom it may concern,
As a packaging designer and developer, I am always looking for new, unknown and thrilling challenges. Challenges, in which I have to solve diverse problems, questions and interdisciplinary tasks. To start a new challenge and to satisfy the needs in fields of product and packaging development, I would like to apply for the position as a Packaging Designer.
"Beauty is a promise of happiness" (Stendhal) - A way to achieve that happiness for the client is the creation and ideation of truly unique, outstanding and iconic products leveraging perfection into the finest detail, assuring the fulfillment of that promise.
As a packaging designer, I can actively take part in the process of shaping a brand and its products holistically.
Today I am working as a packaging developer and project manager for the brand Hugo Boss within Procter & Gamble in Egham, managing the execution of premium fragrance packaging from scratch to sale-able product. Not only the development of a feasible and consumer-desirable product is of importance, moreover all steps between the initial idea and the product on the shelves are forming my daily tasks - expressions like alignment of panoplies with suppliers, reading and understanding technical drawings as well as the packaging processes for fragrances, including glass production and decoration, injection moulding and printing and machining cartons are common vocabulary.
Functioning as the connection or missing link between packaging development, marketing and design, I am able to understand and speak all three »languages« and create brand fitting and consumer oriented products within multidisciplinary teams. The simple form design of an object was never my sole interest, I would rather examine and influence the holistic production process, starting with the first sketch to the marketability of a product. Thinking of a successful packaging, a lot of components have to be considered including form, material, technical realisation, marketing, graphics and printing. In terms of high-end beauty products, the consumer/customer is willing to pay a higher price, expecting a better product quality, a sophisticated packaging from a brand he/she trusts in. My intention as a Packaging Designer is the creation of an additional value for consumers and shoppers, not just meeting the demands of the functional aspects of a product and the expectation towards that good, moreover exceeding consumer's expectations and creating a all around satisfied and and committed consumer. Giving objects a character and identity through story telling graphics, communication and trend conscious marketing is an aim of my work.
Curious, open-minded, highly motivated and interested in extraordinary and prestigious goods in the beauty sector - I appreciate the chance to show my further motivation for the position as a Packaging Designer.
