About me

To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Sandra Barkhuizen and I am a graphic designer/web developer. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia, which I earned with a distinction and achieved the top fifteen percent academic award whilst living in Australia. I currently have ten years commercial experience in the field of graphic design and website development.

Currently my key areas of interest are in: hand-coded XHTML and CSS3, W3C Standards, usability, SEO, graphic design, user interface, animation, information architecture, illustrations, photography, desktop publishing, corporate branding, typography, Flash, AJAX and JQUERY.

I have four years commercial experience using PHP, SQL, CMS, Javascript and ActionScript. I would like the opportunity to further my experience in these areas whilst combining them with my design and front end skills.

I have travelled extensively and have thus been exposed to a diverse set of business environments, cultures and brands. Some of these brands are: Samsung, Sport Illustrated, Men's Health, Runners World, Honda, Shape and Golf Digest. My experiences have taught me that I work most efficiently when in a good team and supplied with challenges.

I am a highly motivated and a devoted individual with good communication and leadership skills. I am a quick learner and always eager to develop myself both professionally and personally.

I am confident that I would be a great addition to any team looking for someone who is enthusiastic about new challenges and dedicated to maintaining a high standard of work.
