About me

I am a skilled design thinker and problem solver, with fifteen years experience designing digital products and services. I have a solid ux leadership, product definition and interaction design skillset, gained through working in a wide variety of industry contexts. I am interested in the relationships and touchpoints between organisations, systems and people and passionate about designing products and experiences that solve problems and provide value and meaning to the people using them.

I am currently a senior experience designer at Thoughtworks, working on a number of applications as part of a product team structure, and a general move towards investment in improving the products and services that support the business. My role has encompassed an end to end design approach. I have managed to develop service design thinking, interviewing and researching various internals groups and domains such as Sales, Consultancy staffing, legal, finance, clients and consultants and the research and analysis around these groups of people - focussing on product delivery.

My experience so far has been a refreshing one, as there is a commitment to lean approaches to product design and an openness to experiment within the software development process. Whilst I have been an advocate for user-centred design for a number of years now, and have built valuable skills around user research and testing, information architecture, stakeholder management, interaction design, I have gained valuable experience extending this practice towards more frequent and iterative user research and testing, and have found the design process to be much richer as a result of embracing a lean ux and hypothesis driven approach.

Contextual inquiry and frequent user research and testing are fundamental to how I work, but I also like to become as much of a subject matter expert within a domain as I can. To this end, I am usually involved in the analysis underpinning the work I'm involved with, whether this consists of talking to stakeholders about process, or learning about systems that a product has to integrate with or consider. Though I consider myself inquisitive and able to shape understanding by asking the relevant questions, I see it as my role to execute on this and focus on tangible outcomes, whether that be facilitated understanding, or product releases.

Having worked at NICE previously, I gained exposure to working in the wider enterprise and the challenges that that presents. I worked on a number of projects whilst at NICE, and gained some valuable information architecture and business analysis experience. I also spent a lot of time working with internal NICE stakeholders on both internal applications around publication authoring, and document sharing/collaboration, aswell as it's external guidance publications, the NICE website, the pathways project and the NICE mobile app. I also helped to put in develop a service design and user-centred strategic approach, to NICE digital outp
