About me
As a communications project manager I am responsible for leading the design and implementation of digital media by default initiative, providing strong leadership in-line with the company transformational programmes.
I am responsible for developing & designing safety campaigns focusing on keeping people safe on the motorway. My main role and responsibility were health & safety on the network and I would primarily focus on developing communication awareness.
I support the feasibility, design and assessment work for proposed projects and support in the day to day delivery of project milestones and Inputting into the development of a business and value management cases for new digital projects. I plan and define project steps, scope project risks and issues, establish plans, reviews milestones and priorities in order to produce solutions to overcome project obstacles and mitigate risk.
I ensured the quality management of the Highways England (HE) branding and tone of voice for internal/external stakeholders and partnering organisations. I developed the HE branding guidelines framework. This involved designing an instructional do's & don'ts of branding and use of language. I delivered training to HE staff members to enforce the HE brand & tone of voice framework. The framework includes legal requirements and standards ensuring good practice and consistency between divisions, project teams and external partners. This provides reassurance to the senior leadership team that communications documents have met the visual identity requirements and evidence of quality prior to authorisation ensuring the HE reputation in the public domain.
As a provider of public-facing digital services I ensure the quality and accuracy of the output is suitable for its end use and delivery channel, managing the identification of new services, from user research to delivery into public service, as well as overseeing the business drivers behind these services, including strategic stakeholder management.
My work requires fast turnarounds of projects. Delivering at pace is essential. This requires me to make effective decisions utilising LEAN methodologies and manage a quality service in order to meet my customer needs. The diverse range of creative requests ranged from digital multimedia and animations through to traditional print graphics. I specialise in multiple disciplines that offer my organisation a broad range of flexible options and value for money which in turn avoids the outsourcing of services.
I am responsibility for the technology and applications, managing key relationships both with the Highways England and Stakeholders. Enhancing the capability of the digital and technology teams and the management of critical change policy programmes to ensure the function has the skills and culture to be fit for purpose. Act as a focal point for advice to Highways England staff, consultants, and agents for all relevant branding and technical matters.
Identify ways to reduce costs and generate ideas that promote continuous improvement and innovation across projects to ensure that work is conducted in manner that takes into consideration wider stakeholders including the customer of HE. Robustly manages costs, maximising value for money, sharing best practice.
Given the specialist nature of my role I'm tasked with a huge variety of creative problems to solve that must meet our visual identity and brand guidelines, the needs of the target audience and are practical within the scope of our communications channels. These challenges have allowed me to think beyond the norm and create innovative solutions to these tasks. I project manage from concept to finish; I set objectives, meetings and deadlines to deliver to. Reference to the HA tone of voice policy was mandatory to review the content supplied so it abides to the HA regulations. I prudently draw up visual story boards for the animation in compliance with the diversity & equality policy.
The diverse range of creative requests has allowed me to become experienced in many forms of design, Producing public facing exhibitions to exhibit changes to the motorway network maintenance and future developments, this involves the management of content adhering to the tone of voice guidelines and creative typography, these designs help the customer identify the communications relevant to them. I then overseeing the printing on to vinyl banner material and constructing of the roll up mechanisms for use at the venue. I project manage and develop engaging innovating motion graphics animations to support an informative message for the company.
