Ryan's work
About Ryan
Good afternoon
I would like to be considered for the position of Copywriter as advertised on Creativepool.
I have an English Literature with Creative Writing degree from Lancaster University and have around two years experience in copy writing. This includes twelve months as Senior SEO Copywriter at Essential Marketer, an online marketing firm who run online marketing campaigns for a variety of clients, including Aston Villa and Aviva.
Having ran and captained a successful football team for over a year now, I very much enjoy working as part of a team. I was the only in-house Copywriter at Essential, though was required to work with others regularly as the staff number was quite small and we were very close knit. It was a very creative and demanding role, though I enjoyed it very much, particularly liaising with clients and coming up with the angle and voice of their content.
Unfortunately I was made redundant from this role. I take this in some ways as a compliment because I helped to develop the Content Management System and made it very easy to transition into solely using freelance writers, which for a small company was considered more feasible for the long term. I was the first Copywriter the company had had and so the role was in many ways experimental and I am very proud of what we achieved with it.
Since then I have been backpacking and done a couple of short term roles - Editorial Intern and Digital Marketing Technician - which involved writing regular copy, and I would very much like to continue in this industry and challenge myself further.
This sounds like the perfect role for me and I hope we can take things forward.
I look forward to hearing from you at your convenience.
Yours faithfully
