About me
I am a highly motivated graphic designer, illustrator and animator, with over 12 years professional creative experience.
After graduating from UCA in 2008, I worked on a number of projects as a freelance graphic designer and artist. These included logo development, web design, illustration and photo manipulation. During these freelancing years, I developed my creative vocabulary and was able to apply my talents to a broad clientele.
In 2012, I was brought on to the team at London's Orbital Comics, where I would work full-time as their In-House Graphic Designer, reporting directly to the owner and store managers. In this role, my responsibility was in the creation of any graphic products, artwork and displays that the shop might require.
In my 7+ years at the company, I produced a wealth of creative work including promotional posters, in-store signage and displays, podcast thumbnails, website materials, social media content, and even exclusive merchandise. I also oversaw the finishing of these items, staying in contact with printers and production facilities, and ensuring high-quality products were made for the best possible value.
As the comic book industry hosts a wide range of diverse creative teams and differing house styles, this meant that I was able to work on promotion material for hundreds of wonderful projects, a small sampling of which is featured in my portfolio.
My role at Orbital was later increased to include the title of Events Coordinator, which gave me opportunities to communicate more directly with publishers and creators, organise calendars, and promote in-store events. I was tasked with writing copy for the shop website and social media posts, and joined the podcast team in the recording of special episodes.
My contributions were in-part responsible for Orbital Comics winning a prestigious Eisner Award in 2016 (one of the highest honours in the comic book community), and I would love to bring the same excellent quality of work to your business.
