About me

I have over 5 years experience in print design and have worked on several pan-European sports titles, such as Surf Europe and Kingpin Skateboarding Europa. Both magazines have gained me award nominations, including Best Redesign and Young Designer of the Year at the Magazine Design & Journalism Awards 2008. Working for a European publishing company has given me the chance to work with some of the world's foremost actions sports photographers such as Dustin Humphrey and Alex Laurel, pushing me to ensure that my design matches the high standard of their photos.

I also have experience within the retail industry, more recently designing Sweaty Betty's A/W2011 press day campaign, catalogues, in-store graphics/POS and other marketing material. Working within Sweaty Betty's brand guidelines, alongside their beautifully directed photo shoots, provided me with a fantastic challenge to represent a sophisticated and rapidly growing brand through my design.

As well as gaining in-depth knowledge in the Adobe Creative Suite (CS5) and Microsoft Office, my previous roles have given me proficient experience in print production processes and with a keen eye for detail, I have always strived to ensure that production is achieved to the highest standard from photo retouching through to signing off printers proofs.

Communication has been key in my work, from communicating on a daily basis with language editors and photographers scattered across Europe to supporting a busy retail marketing team, enabling me to manage and complete several briefs at one time. After five years of working in a fun but somewhat hectic Action Sports publishing office, working to very rigid deadlines, I feel that I could fit in quickly and happily into a fresh, new office of the same fast pace. I'm confident that my work would lend itself well to a variety of mediums and clients.
