Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing about the vacancies you have available for a Proofreader, as advertised on the jobrapido website. I am a Chapterhouse qualified Freelance Proofreader, have previously worked in a similar role in a professional capacity and would like to find out more about what this position entails.

I am a literate graduate, having successfully completed a course in Media with Film and Creative Writing, and feel I possess excellent communication skills, particularly written. I enjoy roles where attention to detail is of the utmost importance. I have previously worked in translation services (I speak French and German to A-level standard, as well as GCSE level Spanish), proofreading patents for inventions and chemicals, and have also worked in Market Research for two years, involving extensive telephone contact with both consumers and clients.

I am competent in the use of most basic Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel, and am also proficient in the use of internal databases and the Internet for research purposes.
