Dear Gloo Communications

I would like to express my interest and suitability for the position of Graphic Designer. As a Fine Art graduate with over a year's experience providing administrative and design support for an in-house Marketing department, I believe I am a very credible candidate. These credentials mean that I am highly creative, can bring forward fresh designs and execute these with a precision and accuracy that comes from working in an administrative role.

Within my current role as an Administrative Assistant my drive for innovation, coupled with my proficiency with Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign; has pushed me to make the role my own and take on ambitious design projects. Within 3 months of starting I had completely redesigned the school logo, replacing a design which had been with the academy for more than 50 years. This spurred me on to produce designs for the letterhead, compliment slips, reports, ID cards and other publications made by the school; standardising brand material produced and improving the marketing image of the academy as a whole.

I believe in the power of making information beautiful, so that it is easily accessible to everyone. I logical and am not afraid to work with figures. This comes from a strong grounding in mathematics, achieving an A grade at GCSE a year early, concluding my mathematical studies with a C grade at AS Level. Working within a large academy with over 1,200 students I also have hands on experience of handling large amounts of data to produce engaging visuals. This is evidenced particularly strongly through the GCSE Option Booklet design project where I conveyed the subject bands structure through a use of infographics and icons.

Based on my understanding of the job responsibilities listed and value I could bring to Gloo Communications, my salary expectations would fall in the range of £17,000 to £20,000 per year.
