About me

I am a qualified proofreader and a Professional Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders. My special interests are history, social sciences, hotels, gardening, permaculture, the countryside and textile crafts, but I am open to projects in all disciplines. I can work to style guidelines, proofread against copy or 'blind', and proofread on paper or on screen.

I worked in-house as an editorial assistant/secretary for a publisher of hotel guides for several years. My freelance experience includes proofreading books (humanities, textile crafts, food and drink, art and sport), website copy, blogs, marketing material, school accounts, dissertations and a study proposal; typing/proofreading an autobiography for submission to a publisher; typing up book manuscripts for a publisher and typing journals, memoirs, a short story and items of local/family history.
