About me

I'm a filmmaker who wishes to return to his advertising roots as a copywriter.

I grew up in Southeast Asia where I started out as an account executive for Mccann-Erickson, Philippines. My team made award-winning campaigns for Globe Telecom (which can be compared to T-mobile here in the UK). I was also involved in commercial production for Coca-Cola Philippines and Jolibee (Philippine counterpart of Mcdonalds).

It was during my stint as an account manager that I realised I wanted to be involved in the creative side of advertising and television. I left Mccann and started to produce and write for a program for MTV Singapore called Mbassy. I wrote for the show for nearly 3 seasons. Also during this time, I co-produced and conceptualised 3 music videos for two Philippine rock bands. One of these videos eventually won the Rock Video of the Year for NU 107 in Manila in 2001.

In 2003, I was accepted to the film program of New York University where I trained in Film Production and Directing. To support myself in New York City, I waited tables in a Japanese restaurant and bartended. During my free time, I produced and directed several short films, 2 of which have been screened in the NYU Film Center.

I moved to London in 2005 and have since produced a documentary which was nominated by BBC World as one of its top 10 documentaries of the year. I have also recently produced commercials and corporate films for GE Health, Skandia, Old Mutual, and Richard Rogers Architects.
