About me
To whom it may concern
I'd like to apply for the post of Window Designer / Project Manager currently on your website. My experience aligns well with the qualifications you are seeking and I believe I would be an excellent candidate for the position. I am including my CV with this letter for your consideration.
With 10 years experience as a Visual Merchandiser, I am adept in strategic planning, team building & leadership, as well as driving businesses to creative individuality. I have a well-rounded skill set and I have learned to adapt these skills to a wide range of retailers, and retail environments.
Since completing a BA honors in furniture design I started off as a sales assistant for Habitat over ten years ago where I was bitten by the visual merchandising bug, subsequently moving swiftly up the Habitat VM ranks. Then, having got as far as I could for Habitat, I moved onto a national VM manager role with Dwell, which I helped grow to a 24 strong store company.
This gave me a great opportunity to practice what I love to do on a national scale, and to drive a brand's vision to successful implementation in a retail environment. In this position, I took the opportunity to really see what our customers were looking for in terms of creating a commercial, creative and a warm shopping experience. I also got to do all the added extras such as creating guidelines to help keep consistency across the brand, train all the retail teams on our merchandising standards, design and source fixtures and open new stores.
I then took my experience to global brand Tesco to be part of a new transformation project within their larger format stores. I was brought in to head up the visual merchandising aspects of their cook/dine and paper shop departments. This role gave me the opportunity to challenge Tesco's traditional ways of working & introduce new VM practices into the business.
As of now, I was recently employed as the VM manager for leading bed company, Dreams which has an estate of 156 stores. This was a new role within the business and has given me the opportunity to develop the brand identity across all channels and drive forward all VM principles and standards within stores.
I am currently looking for a new challenge and I feel this role would broaden my expertise even further.
I would love the opportunity to meet with you and discuss my candidacy further. Thank you for taking the time to consider me for this position.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Robin Kendall
