Dear Sir / Madam,

I am interested in applying for the Digital Communications Executive position as I beleive that my skills are highly suited to this role. I am an experienced communicator having worked in both the private and non-profit sectors for 5 years, overseeing and managing communications strategies and producing documents catered towards a diverse range of stakeholders. I recently finished working as a Communications and Digital Media Consultant for the DFID funded COMDIS HSD, a research program consortium that is developing strategies to improve the health systems of developing nations.

Until April 2012 I worked as the External Communications Intern at Malaria Consortium where I was involved in assisting and executing a communications strategy that supports the long-term strategic objectives of the organisation, including raising the profile of the organisation through press and publicity plans, digital media, major campaigns, overseeing and drafting publications and reports, events coverage and working to develop more effective communications with 7 Field Offices overseas in Africa and Asia. This role required that I use my advanced skills in the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office to produce professional, high-quality materials.

I have extensive experience of overseeing projects, through managing programmes and leading teams whilst working at the charity Que Rico in Cambodia. Handling all of the communications at this charity I was responsible for regularly updating the website on a CMS, raising awareness of our campaigns on social media and using Google Analytics to increase web traffic. Strong analytical skills and an ability to research the key issues and to present clear, constructive and persuasive information are among the skills I can offer to the role of Digital Communications Executive.

My broad communications experience has enabled me to deal with large amounts of information from multiple sources and levels of expertise and to disseminate, ensuring that material is factually correct, has a purpose and is relevant. I have advanced skills in Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Suite, as well as capable of designing and building web sites. I am eager to use my skills and experience to assist in the strategic objectives of organisations and I am seeking a role in a fast paced environment where I can deliver results to tight deadlines. If given the opportunity I would prove to be a highly dedicated and dependable employee.
