About me
To whomever it may concern,
I attach a completed application for the post of Art Worker/Junior Designer at Apple Print Creative.
I am a creative person. I love art, and everything that it includes. I particularly enjoy typography, photography, (combinations of the two), mixed media, and web design. I believe I have a pair of eyes never satisfied and intolerable to error; always seeking finer detail. I always strive to perfect something more and more which is absolutely beneficial when working closely with art work.
As a recent graduate of the prodigious University of Portsmouth, practicing BA (Hons) Photography; I particularly excelled in my most recent, and final year. During June of this year, I exhibited with a group of artists in London in the renown artistic alley of Brick Lane. As a group, we were each assigned individual roles to maintain the planning of the show, utilising our skills for the benefit of the group. Since I had previously achieved a qualification in graphic design I took personal responsibility of designing for the group. This included the initial logo which developed over stages of designs; to flyers for advertising, posters and even more, including the catalogue which would eventually be handed out in the hundreds around London. I sustained this role and completed it positively; guaranteeing that as a team, we would have as many people as possible attending whilst creating visually appealing designs advertising us to the very best standard.
Further responsibilities included physically making the presence of the exhibition known. This was achieved by walking around Brick Lane, speaking to anybody whom I passed, talking of the hard work of everybody involved, and months of planning that had gone into the show whilst handing out catalogues, which were also designed by myself. I was also responsible for welcoming people into the gallery, guaranteeing that the space was aesthetically pleasing and that each and every one of our guests' experience of the gallery was pleasant. This included addressing these very guests with facts; statistics and knowledge of the work presented, and of the artists behind each piece.
This vacancy strikes me as an exceptional opportunity, which if given the chance; I would grasp with everything that I have, 100%. I have explored your website and can already say I have created what I would describe an initial relationship with your style and could imagine myself being beneficial to your fantastic group.
I am currently based in Clevedon, Somerset. However I am eagerly desiring to move to Newbury as soon as possible. Upon successfully finding employment, I am able to relocate as soon as required; therefore Apple Print Creative would be a perfectly feasible commute each day.
I have also attached a copy of my Curriculum Vitae for your reference. The opportunity to work with you is one that excites and enthuses me; I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Yours Sincerely,
Robin Hinton
