About me

My name is Robert by birth but my friends and family call me Jaden. I am A mid-level generalist 3D Artist of 7 years with a Masters Degree in VFX.

3D Modelling has dominated most of my time in VFX because it is something I enjoy and love to do. I also like everything else to do with VFX which makes me a generalist because I do most things from the basic bread and butter jobs like Roto, Green Screen, Wire Removals, clean up work, Compositing, tracking shots to object replacement. Besides from all that good stuff I love to create which is why modelling has dominated this area of VFX for me. It has taken me many years to produce the portfolio of work that I have which includes many animation projects because animation became another must have skill so I practice and have become pretty handy with key frame animations and the use of motion capture data, because of this I ended up learning how to Rig a character, from creating the bone structure to, skinning to rigging. Character modelling is not my strong suit even though I can model characters just not to any accuracy that can hold up to the brief but, objects of any kind I can do from cars, mechanical, buildings, gadgets and products.

Another skill I had to learn was physics simulation work using particle systems. I can destroy things like buildings or blow up a vehicle using plugins like TyFlow or particle flow and PhoenixFD inside of 3DS Max. I strive to achieve realism in destruction work, I have one example of such work in my portfolio.

I am a easy going individual and socially laidback person. very patient and a bit of a deep thinker. I love to ponder the unimaginable and seek to find work doing what I love, which is VFX. I still have much to learn and work on my portfolio projects daily improving each time I complete a project.

I come from a background which involves Customer service, Music Production and Web Development.

I love all these areas but only have time for one occupation so I ran with VFX.

I have yet to find employment working for a studio of any kind as I was a freelance Artist for the last 7 years but since graduating university 2 years ago I have a hunger for a real permanent job that come with a regular pay check, mainly because of the learning opportunities I am missing out on especially the professional work practices I need to know like working within a pipeline structured environment.

If someone can cut me some slack and allow me this opportunity to gain some professional work experience I would be very grateful. I have been applying for work for the last 2 years and get little to no interest whatsoever, it is very disheartening.

I am hard working, I love VFX, I spend most of my time doing this, I use 3DS Max, can use Maya, Nuke can use After Effects, Substance painter can use Photoshop, Exploring Unreal Engine at the moment even though most of the jobs are for unity users. I am also a quick learner so learning new things wont take long.
