Dear Sir,I write in response to your job advertisement for a Copywriter.Since completing my National Council For the Training of Journalist award in January I have worked with numerous publications, in editorial intern positions. As well as completing many features and interviews for Flux Magazine, Muso Magazine, Cheshire Life, The Manchester Evening News, The Oldham Chronicle, The Bolton News and many music reviews as a writer for 4ortherecoed.com.While working at newspapers and magazines (a full list of experience can be found on my CV which I have attached) I have also written numerous features and articles and have excellent language and communication skills. I have conducted numerous interviews with classical musicians for Muso magazine, a classical music magazine based in Manchester, for features and articles.I have also done numerous interviews for Flux Magazine, an arts and culture magazine again based in Manchester. The most recent of which was on the upcoming British independent film "White Lightnin" for which I interviewed the director and cast.While working with Cheshire Life for a two month period, I supported feature writers and the editorial team. I chased up pictures, set-up interviews and completed the listings part of the magazine such as the three page “Whatâ€(TM)s On” section which lists the upcoming events in the county. As well as these tasks I also completed some marketing material for Cholmondeley Castle and wrote a feature on a press-photographer turned artist, a piece that has apparently increased interest in his work leading to new commissions.Also I write for 4ortherecord.com an up and coming music web-site that focuses on high-quality music journalism. For them, I have completed music reviews, gig reviews and features on record labels and classic albums.I have a quirky, verbose, creative writing style, that has proved particularly useful when writing music and concert reviews. Some PR companies that represent the artists I have written about have liked my work so much that they have offered me interviews with the musicians concerned.I am hard-working, friendly, approachable, confident and passionate about journalism and breaking news stories.Of course I do appreciate that I have much more to learn, and would look forward to developing my skills further while in the role.
