Dear Sir/ Madam

I am writing to you to apply for the position of Copywriter/Creative viewed on creativepool.co.uk 03/10/11.

I am a recent journalism graduate with a passion for writing and a long held interest in the power of words. Therefore the prospect of producing content for such a highly respected career adviser as Direct Recruitment is one that I am enthusiastic about.

Coming from a journalistic background I fully understand the importance of deadlines. I have most recently worked at a local radio station and prior to this had extensive experience on a news website, where I produced written, video and audio content and promoted the site via Twitter. I am very computer literate and confident with a variety of software. I also have a good eye for detail, having researched a suspected miscarriage of justice in a murder case for my dissertation and read through hundreds of case files for evidence. I enjoy being creative in all my work and have written a number of blogs as well as had a recent documentary project nominated for an international award. In my leisure time I am constantly reading be it news websites, magazines or books and have a broad range of interests including current affairs, finance, science and sport.

I believe that my passion for writing, appreciation for the importance of deadlines and unwavering dedication to my work will all put me in good stead to make an excellent copywriter.
