About me
I head up the design team of Creative Agency, Born Ugly, having extensive experience in brand design, and creative strategy
across a whole host
of sectors on a local and global stage.
Whether that's bringing a 'refreshingly optimistic' redesign to one of Carlsberg's global power brands Somersby, or helping to change perceptions of the vegan category by starting a positive food rebellion with VFC.
In my near twenty years in the industry I've worked in Melbourne and London, but I'm primarily based 'up north' in Leeds. As a typical Yorkshire man I quietly celebrate being winner of multiple creative and effectiveness awards (but with a strong sense of pride!). My approach is fuelled by curiosity and strategic thinking. From helping to define the challenge, by often uncovering an 'Ugly Truth', to activating a creative and distinctive
solution.
Beyond the day to day I enjoy guest speaking, and working closely with universities and design communities to support the next generation of creative thinkers.
