About me
Dear Sir/Madam
I would like to express interest in the "Post "Production Manager" role you have advertised at you Kentish town office.
I am a kiwi living in London on a two year working visa, I have no restrictions on work only time and even that can be managed.
In my previous role back in New Zealand I was the chief editor at one of our countries biggest NEWS broadcasters.
My roles included
Managing a team of 15 editors ( freelancers and full timers)
Scheduling jobs with the appropriate editor
Communicating with reporters, directors and producers daily
Create workflows to follow and manage department spending
Liaising with camera crews for updates on vision
Heavily involved in FTP, phone support for on location crews 24/7
Archiving to tape and to server.
Following up on the daily on-air fault report
Make clear educated decisions under high stress
You may notice that my last role is very similar to the one you have advertised.
I'm a bit of a tech geek, I love playing with gadgets like the Raspberry Pi computer.
I am a good communicator, a warm personality. I believe being frank is an important skill and is useful tool but not to be used all the time.
In my previous role I had to talk one on one with camera operators that brought back poor footage, editors that were not ticking all the boxes in their role.
Aside from my media experience I am a director for a fruit delivery company in Auckland.
Me and two others started this company in 2010 and we have built it to a size where I can move to London and we have enough staff to manage the day to day.
I created systems that are used to make educated financial purchasing decisions.
I would love to come in and have a chat more about the role
Cheers
Rob Dixon
