Dear Sir or Madam,

I am applying for this position because I want to utilise the extensive promo-producing experience I have gained working for BBC Worldwide, Red Bee Media and Community Channel. I believe my energy and enthusiasm for the creative process in on-air and online content and my passion for promotions would be an invaluable asset to your company.

I graduated with a degree in Media Communications (History Minor). I have worked for Red Bee Media as a Researcher in continuity and created promotions and campaigns for Community Channel and currently as a Promo Producer/Director for BBC Worldwide. These roles have significantly developed my skill-set, allowing me to step in for the big challenges and responsibilities presented by the role of Creative.

As a Promo Producer for BBC Worldwide I produce, direct and write copy for on and off-air promotions for programming such as Louis Theroux, Planet Earth and Top Gear, across BBC Knowledge, Entertainment, Lifestyle and online. I have extensive studio and location experience in my current and previous roles, working with actors on set as well as in the audio booth for voice-overs. I have won awards including one for BBC Films where I wrote and directed a short film highlighting the importance of reading to children. Working for BBC Worldwide I have raised viewing figures across South Africa, Scandinavia, Asia and Australia creating promotions for a diverse range of BBC programming. This is why I believe I would be an extremely valuable asset to your company.

Always working to brief and through the process of creative brainstorms and story boarding, I work closely with marketing and scheduling to ensure the smooth planning and maximum impact of the campaigns. The role demands an astute knowledge of our audiences and the segments we target for each country as well as a highly developed appreciation of the importance of branding. It also involves a high level of efficient communication with outside sources, including independent production companies and external clients.

To the position of Creative within your integrated marketing agency I would bring first-rate producing, copy writing and editing skills, with extensive experience of Final Cut Pro and Creative Suite to name but a few applications. Whether I am working with designers on an animation, directing on location or liaising with marketing on copy, I always manage every project from inception to completion. It is this strong background in promo production and genuine interest in the changes and progression of the media industry in its broadest sense, which I could bring to the role. As part of a team or independently my prime goals are always to deliver work on brief, on time and on budget.
