Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to you in response to your advert regarding the position of Junior Developer. I am a recent graduate with a 2.1 degree in BSc Product Design from Nottingham Trent University. I am an extremely self motivated individual, which has lead me to achievements such as the initiation and running of a university sports club.

I feel I am suited for the position you have advertised due to my skills matching those stated in the advert as well as by background in BSc Product design. This course was far more development based and looked at the processes and materials as well as overall viability of the product, giving me a broad knowledge of the full product design process. Moreover, my current position as a sales negotiator has given me the organisation and motivation to achieve. I am also not afraid to work long hours and currently average 70 hours per week. My sales background gives me the desire to achieve beyond expectation which I feel will make me well suited for this role.

During my time at university I have taken part in a placement year working for a top en bespoke kitchen design company, providing me with 12months experience in a design work environment. Also, my greatest achievement at university, as well as my degree, is the initiation of a university affiliated sports club. I ran the club during its first year gaining experience in management as well as gaining many other skills including sourcing facilities and equipment, dealing with payment of coaching staff, advertising and recruiting members as well as arranging sponsorship. The experience has helped me develop a wide range of skills that i would not have otherwise gained which have been practiced and improved during my final year where i was voted as president for a second year to continue running the club.
