About me

For the past five months I have been working as a freelance designer in this role I have had to client face, which has ranged from consulting clients on possible projects through to pitching design ideas and design solutions as well as creating designs, managing my time between multiple projects and creating print specifications. Many client briefs have required my involvement from beginning to end, this involves taking responsibility of all aspects of the design process starting with my initial design ideas, design development, art working of final design solutions, client facing and print specifications.The challenges I faced whilst designing was the responsibility for creating print specification for the project i.e. printing processes, binding processes and paper types, these specification were sent to various printers for tender to ensure the best printing cost for the client could be achieved. I ensured that the designs were finished and approved with my design director and client within the deadline period.I have built up and developed good interpersonal and communication skills from working in design teams and client facing at design studios through to many of my previous job where customer relations was vital to the job. I have good time management and organisational skills that have been put into practice since gaining my first job as a chef where organisation and team communication were vital in order to ascertain that the correct orders were being produced at the right time and if other colleagues or myself needed help. It was important to communicate what orders were being worked on and where you needed assistance, this all had to be communicated effectively and efficiently as not to waste time as it was a busy environment.
