About me
Richard is a Senior Lecturer in Product Design Engineering at the University of the West of England (UWE), based in the Faculty of Environment and Technology.
After a first degree in Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College, Richard went to the Royal College of Art (RCA) and obtained a Masters Degree in the Innovation Design Engineering department. Graduation from the RCA was followed by a Research Associate position at the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design, a multidisciplinary institute for inclusive design. Richard then moved to Loughborough University to study for a PhD, whilst there he also worked as a researcher on a number of Sustainable Design projects funded by the EPSRC.
Richard is currently based in the Faculty of Environment and Technology at the University of the West of England (UWE). He is involved in the development, delivery and assessment of modules that form part of the BSc (Hons) Product Design Technology and BSc (Hons) Creative Product Design programmes.
