About me

I am an experienced sub editor specialising in editiorial design looking to make the next step up.

Educated to degree level, I have almost nine years experience working in the newspaper and magazine industry, and currently work as Chief Sub Editor for the Regional Magazine Company, where I have been employed since October 2002.

I have a solid journalistic background but have developed strong design skills, recently recognised by the PPA Independent Publishing Awards 2008, where I was shortlisted for 'Designer of the Year'.

Although settled in my current role, I feel I have achieved as much as I can at RMC and know the time is now right for me to make the next step. I am looking for not just an advanced position but a position that offers further career progression over the next five to ten years.

Throughout my nine years in employment since leaving university I think I have proved myself as an ambitious person - I progressed from Editorial Assistant to Chief Sub Editor in little over two years - loyal, reliable and conscientious. I work well as part of a team, feel I have good communication skills and will often go above and beyond the call of duty to get the job done. I am a good organiser and and am used to working to tight deadlines.

I feel my record at both the Sheffield Star and RMC has been exceptional and believe I would be an asset to any prospective employer.
