Composer, music producer, songwriter, sound designer, librettist, and advertising
professional. Specialist in sound dramaturgy and researcher of immersive sound,
always present in many of his works. He has received more than 20 awards for his
musical scores, including a Kikito at the Gramado Film Festival in 1995 (for "Deus Ex-
Machina" by Carlos Gerbase) and the Shell Theater Award for Best Music in São Paulo
in 2014 (for "Caros Ouvintes" by Otavio Martins). He has composed and produced
songs for Brazilian artists such as Cida Moreira, Vânia Bastos, Laura Finocchiaro,
Adriana Calcanhotto, Branco Mello (Titãs), and in Brazilian theater, for Amanda Acosta,
Fafy Siqueira, Nany People, and Rachel Ripani, with original music and songs created
for more than one hundred theatrical productions and films.
He produced some of the instrumental soundtracks for the telenovelas "Jóia Rara",
"Além do Horizonte" and "Órfãos da Terra" on TV Globo, the feature film "Atena" by
Caco Souza (starring Mel Lisboa, currently in theaters), and the music for the
documentaries "Work In Progress - Inside the OSESP" and "50 Years of the São Paulo
City Ballet" by Prodigo Films, directed by Diego de Godoy, and "Andes Extremo"
(where he also did the sound design), by Wiland Pinsdorf, for the History Channel, in
addition to many other audiovisual works. He co-wrote, directed, composed the music
for, and produced the fiction podcast "Science As It Is - The Saga of Carlota", with Mel
Lisboa, Nany People, Fafy Siqueira and several actors. He composed the original music
for the choreographies of the Mariana Muniz Dance Company from 2006 to 2013, and
was one of the artist-trainers of the Sound Design Course at the SP School of Theater
for over ten years, where he taught Sound Dramaturgy, Soundtrack Composition
Techniques, Sound Software, and Repertoire.
In Brazilian theater, he worked with directors Jô Soares, Cacá Rosset, Clara Carvalho,
Otavio Martins, Marco Antônio Pâmio, and Neyde Veneziano. In Brazilian musicals, he
is the author of the songs and soundtracks for the musical "Um Dez Cem Mil Inimigos
do Povo" (One Ten Hundred Thousand Enemies of the People), and the musical
director of "Carmen - A Grande Pequena Notável" (Carmen - The Great Little
Notable), both by Kleber Montanheiro; the lyrics for "Aparecida - um musical"
(Aparecida - a musical) with text by Walcyr Carrasco; and the songs and musical
direction for "Acordei Cantando" (I Woke Up Singing), directed by Jarbas Homem de
Mello. He holds a Master's degree from the University of São Paulo's School of
Communications and Arts, with research focusing on the discourse of song lyrics in
contemporary Brazilian Musical Theatre, and is currently a PhD candidate in Music,
also at USP, researching immersive sound design in theatre.
