About me

My name is Reese Simmons, and I recently graduated from Appalachian State University with a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in General Business. I'm passionate about blending the precision of systematic design with illustration and hand-drawn elements. I enjoy creating characters, bringing humor into visual storytelling, and experimenting with new ways to play and approach my work.
Using generative design practices, I explore many different versions of what I want to create. By working like this, I create very unique ideas that I am passionate about completing. I tend to lean into the organization and leadership roles within groups, but I know when to take the backseat and work as part of a collective.
At the end of the day, I want my work to connect with people. I'm interested in how art can open up conversations, create empathy, and even shift perspectives. Whether someone walks away with a new idea, a question, or just a feeling that they're not alone. I want my work to leave a lasting impression and inspire people to connect with the world around them.
