About me

I wish to gain media experience where creative initiative, ideas and a genuine enthusiasm would allow me to progress. I am a graduate in English and American Literature and Film Studies and have a strong desire to work in television or film post production. I have gained a variety of both specific skills and transferable skills which relate to working in the media. I have hands on experience of location shooting, studio filming and the editing process. This experience was gained when I shadowed the production team for "Diggit" a children's entertainment programme. These skills have further been enhanced through my work experience with an independent freelance production company. I assisted in both sound and lighting and gained insight into each specific element of the production process. I know that it is crucial to be able to work under pressure and to deadlines in the media. These are qualities that my experience shows I possess. I am a good organizer and have initiative, I am also self motivated and able to work efficiently on my own. I always work hard to achieve my goals. I have experience with computer packages including Microsoft Word, Access and Internet Explorer and can rapidly learn how to use other software. I am able to communicate efficiently and my degree has proven my ability to express critical opinions within a sustained argument.

I have great drive and an enthusiastic willingness to learn. I would thrive in working in the media industry.
