About me
I'm a junior compositor with a BA and MA in Visual Effects from Teesside University, passionate about compositing and post production. Since graduating, I've been staying proactive by working on refining my reel, working closely with industry artists, taking on freelance projects, and expanding my creative and technical skillset. I've also been fortunate to have a mentor to guide me along the way as I continue to develop as an artist.
My initial focus was to become a roto and paint artist but have since pushed those projects into full compositing pieces, allowing me to further enhance my skills in Nuke, Photoshop, Silhouette and Maya, incorporating techniques like Smart Vectors for seamless tracking, as well as rendering tools such as Arnold and Mantra. My most recent freelance work involved compositing the invisible effects, seamlessly integrating place names onto buildings and altering number plates. Beyond this, I've been exploring machine learning tools such as CopyCat and more to improve my workflow and keep up with industry trends.
During my studies, I was the director of an animated short film that was later nominated for an award at the Royal Television Society Awards. This experience strengthened my ability to lead a team, solve creative challenges, and work collaboratively under tight deadlines. Additionally my experience as a bar supervisor helped me develop leadership and problem solving skills in high pressure environments, qualities I know will translate well in the fast paced nature of the VFX industry.
