About me
I have an immense passion for Film which has been greatly enthused by my recent travels, particularly my trip last summer across Southeast Asia. During my time there, I saw how much mainstream cinema is entertained and rejoiced by the locals; with that being said, they still hold incredible respect for their own film culture and celebrate the equally important impression, encouraged by the themes and subject matter explored, that Southeast Asian films imprint within the industry. Travelling has once again enabled me to see the truth of how cinema transcends all cultures and all races and unites us; fundamentally informing and challenging our worldview whilst also giving us the self-belief and courage to make a difference and in return inspire others to evoke change. In addition to this, I believe my knowledge and skills which I have built up during my academic time and my travels make me a suitable candidate for this role.
As a new postgraduate, my willingness to take on new opportunities has led me to sign on with the extras agency, We Got POP. My initial introduction was a body recognition project and has since helped me further understand what it is like to be in front of the camera, along with seeing how the camera masterfully brings the individual and the scene together. The eagerness to immerse myself into as much film opportunities as I can, has also led me to developing my first music video for a song called 'the ends' by my friends and upcoming SoundCloud artists Connor Seven and Jay Dacko which I helped co-write and executive produce. The music video is currently available to view on YouTube. During my recent role as a Sales Support Assistant in Harrods, I got the opportunity to interact with customers from all over the world and build a connection with them which enabled me to make frequent sales and find solutions to meeting their specific demands when needed; an approach which is very useful in the essence of filmmaking to ensure the project gets completed successfully whilst also maintaining the patience to find means of resolving issues whether technical, location and so forth.
