Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apply for the position of Copywriter.

My excitement surrounding web publishing began when, as an undergraduate, I worked at Hamish Hamilton with Simon Prosser and Anna Kelly, helping with copywriting, editorial and administrative duties and writing reports of suitability when we received submissions. More recently, I worked in the Adult Editorial department of Bloomsbury UK, during which I learned about copyright law, wrote cover copies, and worked with international rights. I am fluent in Biblio3 and InDesign, skills I acquired during my time at Ebury Marketing of Penguin Random House, and am more than apt with Excel and PowerPoint.

Whilst maintaining a professional manner, I am easy-going, confident and cheerful. I have attached my CV with this application and I thoroughly look forward to hearing from you.
