About me

Hello,

I am currently working as an editorial intern for international design magazine, Frame. I am contributing to the magazine - look out for my writing in Frame 80 and 81 - by reviewing books, compiling catalogues and sourcing and examining new interior projects.

The experience is fantastic, and I've been able to fill the gaps in my knowledge - notably, what's current and new in architectural/interior/product design.

My degree in interior architecture (which I completed in 2010) taught me a lot - how to draw, how to design, how to improve by casting a critical eye on my work. History of Architecture lectures expanded my interest in modern 20th century architecture - particularly in 'the greats', like Mies Van der Rohe and Adolf Loos, but also in the design, architectural representation and ideologies of the 50s and 60s.

The attitudes, fashion style and music - rare RnB, soul and popcorn - from this era form a large part of my interests immediately outside of architecture - although, of course, my passion for furniture and architectural design extends into this arena, too.

I am leaving Frame at the end of May and am heading back to London (Frame is based in Amsterdam, where I currently reside). I plan to find work as a designer - interior/exhibition/product design jobs are the top of my search list.

Please do get in touch if you are looking for a junior designer, trained in interior architecture, with experience in the publishing side of the industry. Check out my portfolio to see some previews of my work, and don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like to see more!

Thanks for your attention,

Becky
