About me

Dear SIir/Madam,

Please find enclosed a copy of my CV for your consideration, and the vital stitch to make your brand!

The position!

My preferred area of choice would be an retail designer/ artworker. I would like to give a clothing brand part of my creative signature, by means of packaging, advertising and making the market aware of the quality of the brand. Please find the following examples of my personality and my experience:

How I made a change for the better!

To be able to teach dancing at Trudi Osborne's School of dance I had to complete twelve exams to become a qualified teacher. I was especially proud of completing Grade six in Ballet because I had to remain organised throughout, because I balanced many curricular and extra curricular activities, which included four A-Levels and prep work. I would consider myself a well-motivated and determined individual and I was able to contribute to my dancing school and made a change for the better by helping younger children to learn dancing.

A challenge I faced!

The company I am working for recently has just been taken over by an American company Perry Ellis. This change has been very exciting because it has brought along new brands to launch into the European market. I was faced with launching a brand called Original Penguin in three weeks at an exhibition in Barcelona. Without a stand design just a space at the exhibition I had to think off the cuff how to display the brand with visuals and without even seeing an item of clothing, as it was still stuck in America! As well as designing invitations and adverts to start the rumour of an exciting new brand and sending to print in less than a week! The brand I.D. was designed around the 70's, so decided to give the stand an atmosphere of the 70's by buying antique furniture and old hanging rails, picture frames with old family portraits in to show off the concept of the brand. The challenge was exhilarating especially once everything had been bought, as I had to ship it over to Barcelona and produce a team of builders to put this stand into motion. Luckily the clothing turned up the evening before the show and I was able to merchandise and create a buzz around the new brand at the show, especially by giving away logo bags designed by myself to give away as freebies!

I am passionate about designing and bringing brands to life by growing them through the market and therefore giving the consumer a better living by just simply making them aware. My degree has taught me to use my design skills to the best of my ability to create a more comfortable environmentally friendly place for us to live in.

Thank you for your time.

I look forward to meeting you personally

to discuss my recruitment further.

Yours Sincerely,

Rebecca Drake
