About me

I have lots of experience designing art work and designs gained through briefs and projects set whilst studying my degree in Mixed Media Textiles Design, although I haven't worked in industry the skills I have acquired from my degree and also from working within retail I believe are extremely beneficial. Working in retail has gave me experience of working as part of a team, whilst also working towards bonuses and cost effective practice. Whereas the work produced during my degree is solely from me, over the three years I have developed skills in many drawing and line techniques such as continuous line, blind drawing and how to use colour within my work. I also gained a wide range fabric embellishment, be it hand beading, couching, manipulation or an extensive amount of hand stitches and the ability to use a sewing machine to convey many of my illustrations. Whilst on my degree I used many types of printing, including printing my own wallpapers and CAD onto fabric and paper using a digital printer, in addition to the digital printing I also used screen printing, flocking, foiling and dying fabrics and papers.I'm currently training on Illustrator, but I'm fully trained using Adobe Photoshop and use it regularly within my work, I often take hand drawings and create patterns and designs fit for many areas. Making my own designs has given me a keen eye for imperfections within my work, I make sure all medias I buy are both the right colour and feel which sits well with all other textures in my range, I take a great amount of pride within my work and all that I do.
