About me
Dear Sir/Madame,
My name is Rebecca Horne and I have currently graduated from Sheffield Hallam University this summer gaining a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Packaging and Graphic Design (Third class Honours). I am writing, as I am interested in the junior graphic design vacancy you currently have available and would like to learn more about this opportunity. I am competent and have a working knowledge of the graphical programmes PhotoShop and Illustrator, which I have used throughout my time at university. I have a passion for design and enjoy being creative. I have an eye for detail and can work under pressure. Whilst at University I have worked on a range of packaging and graphical briefs with brands such as Masterfoods Dolmio, Marks and Spencers, Smirnoff Ice, Iceland Supermarket, Sanctuary Spa London and Clarks Shoes. These briefs have involved me working in various different packaging materials from carton board, plastics and metals and creating various packaging solutions. During my final year of my studies I worked on a Y.C.N Clarks brief which required me to design a creative concept, which would primarily be used in the shop window. The brief required me to effectively make the Clarks pre teen shoe brand "Bootleg" appear more fashionable, credible, cool, upbeat and rebellious to the pre teen market (8 to 11 year olds) and encourage purchase. This project therefore had more of a graphical input. My time at University has allowed me to develop an understanding of how design relates to marketing, retailing and production. I have also developed and built up my design skills and the ability to communicate design solutions at all levels. I enclose a copy of my Curriculum Vitae and wait in anticipation for your reply.
Yours Sincerely
Rebecca Horne
