About me

I have been working for the past 19 years in all phases
of computer technology and DTP. My vast experience includes setting up
and configuring small office networks, FTP servers, VNC, maintenance of
both Mac and PC computers, hardware installation, software installation
and upgrading, plus troubleshooting all aspects of the computer. In
addition, my extensive knowledge of numerous programs includes
QuarkXpress, Adobe CS suites including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat,
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Dreamweaver, Microsoft Office
including Word, Excel, Publisher, Powerpoint and Outlook.

While I began my career as a film processor, I was
eagerly willing to learn new skills. Developing flexible, industrious
work habits quickly advanced me to becoming solely in charge of
production maintenance. During the nine years spent at my first job, my
duties increased to include quality control and preparation of computer
files for digital output to film or short press run. Additionally, I
became responsible for daily maintenance of all film processors plus
insuring that all computers were current with latest software update,
security patches, memory upgrades and new computer components.

Furthering my career, my supervisory skills allowed me to
advance to production manager where I was not only responsible for
overseeing computers, but also engaged in client contact. Becoming the
liaison between the company and its clients enabled me to deal with a
variety of people. Advancing to more than computer maintenance and
upgrading, I became proficient at designing ads for various clients,
learning to incorporate their individual needs with creative layouts,
always meeting strict production deadlines.

Through word of mouth, I became a freelance consultant,
designing websites and teaching businesses and individuals multiple
software programs while upgrading and maintaining their computers.
Dealing with varied individuals gave me invaluable experience in
patience and persistence, furthering my strong organisational and
interpersonal skills.
