About me
Rakesh is an experienced filmmaker who has worked with a wide range of clients,
producing professional quality work for films, documentaries and advertising.
Originally from Mauritius, this is where Rakesh was inspired to embark on a career in the
audio visual industry. After participating in several theatre productions as a stage actor,
Rakesh wrote, directed and produced his first film, "The Best", at the age of eighteen. After
completing a two year video production training at the Mauritius Film Development
Corporation, Rakesh gained experience as a cinematographer, editor, writer and director
on projects involving, TV and Radio ads as well as short films. During this time he
continued to expand his portfolio by writing, directing and producing short films including,
"It's never too late" and "Radio Story". Both these films were picked up by the Mauritius
Broadcasting Corporation.
Rakesh graduated with a first class honours degree in Video Production and Visual Effects
from Brunel University London. During his time there he expanded his range of skills to
include working as a Motion Graphics Artist, Digital Artist, Motion Capture Supervisor,
Visual Effects Supervisor and Compositor.
Since he has graduated, Rakesh has been working as a teaching assistant at Brunel
University in the areas of video production, video, sound and music editing, compositing
and motion capture.
Rakesh is now working as a filmmaker and offers his professional input for the preproduction,
production and post-production stages of filmmaking.
