About me
Hi there, I'm Rafael Gil, Chief Creative Officer at Artplan, the largest independent agency in Brazil. I have worked at leading agencies such as Africa, VMLY&R, and AlmapBBDO. I've been fortunate to win more than 50 Cannes Lions across multiple categories, including three unprecedented Grand Prix for Brazil in Glass, B2B, and Industry Craft.
My work has also been exhibited in museums in New York and Los Angeles, and I'm currently ranked as the #1 art director of all time in Lürzer's Archive history.
A four-time Effie Grand Prix winner (2015, 2016, 2023, and 2024), I have earned Gold with incredible teams at every major international award show, including D&AD, The One Show, Clio, Andy, LIA, El Ojo, and others.
Among my most notable campaigns are Generation - VW 70 Years for Volkswagen; Earth4 for the UN Global Compact & B3; I Am for Starbucks; Guarded Bus Stop for Eletromídia; Atacama Fashion Week for Desierto Vestido and Fashion Revolution; and Nigrum Corpus for Idomed and Yduqs Institute, which won a Grand Prix in Industry Craft in 2025.
My background is rooted in design, art direction, and storytelling. I love connecting meticulous craft with emotionally powerful ideas, creating work that resonates both culturally and globally.
