About me

My name is Rachel Fereday. I am 23 and a recent graduate at Lincoln University with a BA (Hons) Design for Exhibition and Museums degree. I have lived in Lincoln for approximately 4 years but am now looking to spread my wings and begin my career within the design sector. I have a strong passion for graphic design as well as exhibition and museum design and would like to apply these skills in new projects. At University I used Adobe Photoshop for photo manipulation, rendering and developing ideas quickly and easily. I can draw to scale, either by hand or using AutoCAD. I am able to use 3DS MAX (3D modelling) but I can also communicate my ideas the old fashioned way; with a pencil and pad. I have little experience with InDesign and Illustrator but I am a quick and keen learner and work hard to achieve new skills for my career. I enjoy keeping a personal sketchbook and continue to experiment with perspective drawings, materials, rendering techniques and model making. I think it is beneficial to keep my imagination active and believe it continues my learning.

I am a confident, enthusiastic, friendly, hard working individual. I enjoy working as part of a team or on my own depending on the nature and needs of a project. I welcome constructive criticism and happily share my own thoughts and ideas. I am flexible and professional and am looking to improve on current skills as well as learn new ones. I believe myself to be approachable and positive and always aim to deliver the best service I can. I work well under pressure and have sufficient experience with keeping to a deadline (thanks to Uni!) I have excellent communication and organizational skills for liaising with colleagues and clients. I also make a lovely cup of tea for those less than easy times!
