About me
My professional history includes positions in esteemed institutions such as the Royal Opera House, the Pavilion Theatre in Bournemouth, and the Oxford Playhouse, where I've excelled in dressing, crafting, and altering costumes to the highest standards. One notable project was a pantomime dame costume, from design to completion. This encompassed meticulous research, precise measurement, bespoke pattern-making, prototyping, and conducting fitting sessions. I approach each project as tailor-made to the performer's specifications, and professional fitting sessions are integral throughout the construction process. These varied experiences not only refined my sewing skills but also cultivated my ability to thrive in a collaborative and dynamic theatre environment, making me a well-rounded team player.
I am an Arts University Bournemouth graduate with a first-class degree in Costume and Performance Design. This degree taught me collaboration, production of high-quality garments at a fast pace, how to respond to constructive criticism, and the importance of utilising specialist knowledge.
Following graduation in 2022, I worked as a Supply Chain Analyst for Manpower Group UK. This provided transferable communication and computer skills. Since leaving this job, I spent 4 months travelling, gaining invaluable insight into cultural influences within costume.
Currently, I dress for ballets and operas at the Royal Opera House in London. This has given me a deeper understanding of the inner workings of a professional theatre.
Moving forward, I aspire to join and learn from an enthusiastic costume construction team to further develop my creative abilities.
