About me

Currently I work part time in a factory, overseeing the manufacture of linen tapes on two machine looms. I have been working here for the last three years; however, I would like to move into designing textiles.

I graduated with a BA (hons) in Textile Design at Hereford College of Arts in 2009, after gaining skills in both weave and print, as well as digital printing. I worked on combining these techniques, printing onto my woven pieces with print pigment, flocking and foiling. Additionally I can create digital prints. I have attached various images of my work, including prints, woven pieces, drawings, sketchbook pages and digital prints. I have also attached prints selected by InDesign (013 and 022) and taken to New York, where Calvin Klein viewed my collection. Whilst attending my university course, as well as gaining print and weaving skills, i would regularly help teach on taster days, working with visiting students to help produce a digital print that could then be printed onto fabric.

I continue to design at my place of residence, drawing abstract designs and then manipulating on my laptop using design software. I like to use a range of materials, including stickers and marker pens. More recently I have started making my own cards, producing various designs for birthdays and Christmas for family and friends and have opened a shop on British craft site Folksy, selling my handmade cards. I also regularly submit digitally designed prints to the Tigerprint competition and have managed to come within the top 27 twice.
