About me
I am a front-end developer with digital agency experience. Currently I work as a front-end developer and also I am Head of Technical Support. I work with the delivery team (project manager, designers, developers, business development manager, creative director etc.) to ensure projects are developed to a high standard and meet client requirements. I am also Head of Technical Support where I deal with client support requests as well as in-house support requests for all our current live sites (30+).
I design and develop websites (see *) and am a proficient user of Photoshop. I am very competent with HTML and CSS (also HTML5 AND CSS3) with working knowledge of jQuery and Javascript. I ensure that my coding is w3c standard compliant and validates accordingly. In terms of CMS' I have extensive knowledge of implementing sites using Expression Engine, Matrix Squiz and Perch. I have basic working knowledge of Wordpress.
I graduated with First Honours Distinction at Greenwich University for MA Web Design & Content Planning. My previous background in terms of my degree was in Law however I believe this has given me a strong flair for reasoning, planning and organisation with professional mannerism in the workplace as well as to potential clients.
I am a regular user and follower on Twitter (@linglau64) and I also regularly make submissions on an online art community. Submissions include photography, painting and sketching. I also regularly use Facebook pages, Tumblr and youTube channels in conjunction with my websites for social networking.
My MA has also given me the skills and knowledge regarding SEO, information architecture, business research of websites and much more.
I am also very pro-active in wanting to learn more about the tools I use in front-end development. I regularly go to conferences (Future of Web Design 2011 and 2012) to listen to and engage with those that are influential in the industry. I also design and develop in my spare time and enjoy pushing my own knowledge and boundaries.
I am currently based in Kent but am looking to locate.
