Salt Productions Los Angeles

ABOUT

Concept
Salt and Pinch reimagined Amazon Unboxed as a connected brand world centered on storytelling, discovery, and human connection. Rather than approaching the event as a traditional advertising conference, the experience was designed to reflect Amazon’s expanding role across entertainment, retail, technology, and culture through immersive environments and hospitality-driven engagement.

The creative direction focused on translating Amazon’s vast ecosystem into a cohesive physical experience where advertisers, creators, media partners, and industry leaders could explore ideas, products, and conversations in a more emotionally resonant and participatory way. Contemporary architecture, layered lighting, integrated media, and premium hospitality moments created an atmosphere that felt dynamic, elevated, and distinctly Amazon.

Execution
Salt and Pinch led the creative direction, environmental design, fabrication, production, and experiential execution across the event footprint, creating a flexible environment capable of supporting keynote programming, breakout sessions, networking spaces, immersive installations, hospitality lounges, and sponsor integrations.

The experience featured large-scale scenic builds, custom staging systems, integrated digital content, branded environments, wayfinding, and interactive storytelling moments that guided attendees fluidly throughout the space. Materiality, motion graphics, lighting, and environmental branding were unified across all touchpoints to create a seamless attendee journey.

Programming spaces were intentionally designed to balance scale with intimacy — transitioning from high-energy keynote experiences to smaller relationship-driven conversations and networking moments while reinforcing Amazon Ads’ broader narrative around innovation, creativity, and customer connection.

Results
Amazon Unboxed successfully elevated the attendee experience through immersive storytelling, premium environmental design, and strategically integrated brand moments that encouraged participation, networking, and engagement throughout the event.

The activation generated strong audience engagement, social sharing, and positive attendee sentiment while reinforcing Amazon Ads’ position at the intersection of technology, entertainment, media, and culture. By transforming a business conference into a more emotionally driven and hospitality-focused experience, the project demonstrated how experiential design can deepen audience connection and create lasting brand impact beyond traditional event formats.
