About me
My name is Pilar, and my work bridges the worlds of design, writing, and strategy. With a background in journalism, I began my career writing about theater for the Spanish magazine La Guía del Ocio before expanding into literature and design. Along the way, I earned three Master's degrees in Creative Writing, Graphic Design, and Art Direction, and later deepened my focus on sustainability and responsible communication through a sustainability program at Cambridge University.
Beyond my work in branding, I have always been deeply connected to the visual arts, especially photography. I have participated in collective exhibitions such as Women is Art (ME Hotel, Madrid, 2020) and Upside Down Me (CCEBA, Buenos Aires), exploring the intersection of image and text as storytelling tools. In 2018, I co-founded Editorial Cumbia, an independent publishing house that launched its first book, Intermitencia, after ten years of research—an in-depth exploration of Mendoza's design history.
I have also written two books: Crecer era esto (Random House Mondadori, 2018) and Brava (Lunwerg Editores, 2020), co-authored with photographer Erea Azurmendi. Additionally, I was selected for a residency at Varda Artist Residency (Sausalito, California), where I had the opportunity to collaborate with talented photographers such as Lisa Carletta and Prue Stent.
As co-founder (and Head of Impostor Syndrome) at Felicidad Collective, I help brands craft narratives that are both visually compelling and deeply meaningful, ensuring that design goes beyond aesthetics to drive real impact. I believe communication and sustainability should go hand in hand, shaping messages that not only resonate but also contribute to lasting change.
Today, I split my time between Madrid and Sesimbra, balancing creative projects that connect sustainability, design, and storytelling—all while navigating motherhood, the ultimate masterclass in creativity, adaptability, and multitasking.
