ABOUT

Modern environments are rarely quiet. Noise follows you from streets to cafés to your own home, becoming increasingly difficult to tune out. It makes it harder to focus, harder to relax, and harder to stay present.

Most solutions respond by shutting it out completely, replacing noise with silence, but also removing you from the world around you.

ReForm challenges this approach. Instead of isolation, it turns sound into something you can shape.

Using real-time audio separation, ReForm listens to its surroundings and isolates individual sounds.. These sounds appear as soft, interactive bubbles that can be tapped, held, and dragged to adjust their volume, creating a direct and intuitive relationship between gesture and sound.

Over time, the system captures these adjustments to form environment-specific profiles. As users move between spaces, these profiles are automatically applied and refined through repeated behaviour, reducing the need for constant manual control.

With ReForm, users remain in control while staying aware of the world around them. Conversation and alert passthrough ensure important sounds remain clear and audible. A key challenge was balancing control with safety, ensuring critical alerts such as sirens are communicated without reintroducing distraction.

ReForm is grounded in mindful philosophies such as Forest Bathing and Wu Wei, shaping an experience that feels calm, intuitive, and requires minimal effort over time. The interface is deliberately minimal and restrained, using soft, glass-like elements that sit within ambient colour, allowing the experience to blend into its surroundings rather than compete with them.

ReForm offers a more balanced way to live with sound, reducing overstimulation without requiring disconnection. It shifts the relationship from avoiding noise to shaping it, helping users move through the world with greater clarity, control, and intention.
