Concept:

The attractions unique back story has been inspired by the Greek myth of Icarus combined with the monolithic structure of the Angel of the North. The concept reflects the epic scale of the hardware’s height and speed, building a narrative around the anticipation, power, strength & bravery needed to conquer the ride.



Execution:

Towering above the iconic Thorpe Park skyline built in a functional flood plain stands an all-new marvel of engineering: Hyperia, the UK’s tallest, fastest and most weightless rollercoaster.​

Rising high above the landscape at an extraordinary 236ft, this magnificent masterpiece of steel beckons thrill-seekers from far and wide to ‘Find Their Fearless’.​

With over 995 meters of twisted track and speeds exceeding 80mph, inspired by the legendary daughter of an ancient River God who dared to defy her fears, Hyperia is not just a rollercoaster - it’s a tribute to the powerful potential within each of us. You’ll feel weightless, fearless, invincible. ​



Standing in the far corner of the park, guests will not be able to see the ride in totality until they arrive in the area, building huge anticipation of what is to come.



Guests will be seated on a 24-seater train. As soon as the ride starts the train tilts riders to the side giving them a taster of the unique weightless sensations they will experience during the ride.



The train then climbs a 72m lift where it will slowly crest the top, plummeting at over 80mph down a vertical spiral dive towards the ground.



The train swoops back up to the sky twisting riders in a way that creates a weightless sensation. The train suddenly drops back to the ground sustaining the weightless feeling. As it races back up the next hill, the train banks in an unexpected direction. As it turns back on-itself (and whilst sustaining more weightlessness), the ride dives towards the ground at the same time as inverting

riders in a unique world first element.



The train rushes back up to the sky this time flipping guest’s upside down holding them for what feels like forever inverted!



The train then dives back to the ground where it creates a spectacular splash down into the lake and from there the train speeds through pops of airtime hills and then into the brake run where the fearless will finally get their breath back.
