BOXIT · Space for Perspective
When 115 x 2.44 meters of urban space are made available, a unique opportunity arises to communicate far beyond the ordinary.

In connection with the establishment of BOXIT’s new self-storage facility in Rødovre, Denmark, the original brief was standard: secure and paint the 115-meter temporary perimeter wall to prevent vandalism. Klausenberg was brought in to transform this routine, passive anti-vandalism task into an actionable strategic idea.

The construction wall is located at one of the most central hubs in Rødovre, directly facing a newly constructed light rail station and one of Greater Copenhagen's busiest main traffic arteries, Ring 3. But instead of exploiting the massive daily flow of traffic for traditional messages about storage space or plastering the surface with loud, wall-to-wall advertising, we chose to give the space back to the city.

Developed from vision to reality by Klausenberg, the project, "SPACE FOR PERSPECTIVE", became a concrete action in an everyday environment characterized by noise, traffic, and logistics. By refraining from pushing corporate logos or products onto the public, BOXIT created a mental breathing space in the middle of the traffic, moving the brand’s communication from monologue to dialogue.

The Method: An Open Manifesto
To ensure that the project became a genuine reflection of contemporary times and not a rigid marketing task, the selected artists worked from an open, text-based manifesto written directly onto the 115-meter surface during phase one.

The manifesto called for daring to embrace inclusivity and creating the necessary breathing spaces in a noisy world. We deliberately refrained from giving the artists a fixed commercial recipe; instead, the manifesto served as the shared foundation from which they had completely free hands to create their individual proposals.

Renowned contemporary art curator Jens-Peter Brask (Curated by Jens-Peter Brask) was brought in by Klausenberg to lead the artistic selection, securing a collection of works from nine prominent contemporary artists that each challenge and expand the viewer's perspective.

From Temporary Structure to Permanent Impact
The 115-meter construction wall has completely shifted the character of the urban space, serving as a shifting outdoor gallery until 2027. Upon completion of the facility, the project secures a circular lifecycle: the wall will be carefully dismantled into individual, standalone artworks and auctioned off for charity.

By choosing cultural contribution over commercial shouting, the project generated massive resonance without a single krone spent on traditional media placement. The initiative caught national attention, featured extensively on TV2’s Go' Morgen Danmark, and received widespread coverage across leading construction industry trade media. Furthermore, the project earned significant official backing, with the local Mayor and the municipality’s Cultural and Arts Council officially endorsing and attending the launch.
