ABOUT
It is an artistic research project in development that explores the construction of contemporary subjectivity through self-portraiture. The proposal shifts the focus away from faithful representation or psychological introspection toward an architecture of identity, positing identity as a multireferential construction.
The process begins with the recognition of one’s own image through a digital double that functions as a canvas: a bust generated via 3D scanning, retopologized and digitally sculpted. This avatar does not operate as a representation of the “self,” but rather as a site of material experimentation—the first step in the creation of a personal image that is autonomous and mutable.
By dressing this simulacrum with diverse textures and intervening upon it through language, the work moves away from mimesis to become a palimpsest of influences. In these pieces, writing relinquishes its semantic function of labeling and delimitation and, through repetition, transforms into pure gesture. The word becomes a mark, inheriting codes from drawing, comics, and graphic design.
The result is a non-homogeneous identity in which the precision of digital volume collides with the violence of the manual gesture, collage, and expanded photography—thus configuring a subject who actively reassembles himself before the viewer’s gaze.
