Platige Image Warsaw

ABOUT

The Polish Pavilion at the Expo 2015 in Milan was supposed to portray Poland not only as a country with a dynamically developing economy but also a very accessible place and a source of inspiration undergoing deep cultural transformations. To pique the interest of Italian visitors, Platige Image and Fish Ladder created and developed an interactive installation for the Pavilion which was supposed to encourage visitors to learn about Poland in a very unorthodox way. The installation took Rome's famous La Bocca della Verità (the Mouth of Truth) and transmuted it into an animated, Slavic figure. Vitaslao is an animated character with a wide range of means at his disposal. Using real-time animation, his face is transformed to fit individual elements of the narrative, it also responded to questions about Poland from visitors and conversed with them on other topics. As a result of using this simple solution, the visitors not only learned more about Poland itself but had lots of fun in the Polish Pavilion. This, in turn, promoted Poland as a modern and friendly country which uses innovation to make its mark and distinguish itself from other countries present at the Expo.
