This was one of those projects that rarely come up allowing me to run wild designing every aspect of the taxi restoration. From livery designs to picking modification and finer interior detailing, the world was my oyster. The taxi was being used as a promotional feature at Expo West health industry show in Anaheim, USA so the British-ness of the brand had to stand out. A Union Jack on the roof which opened up to vend samples from and the halftone print of the dog in the back window all added fun to the classic vehicle. I kept the design of the taxi relatively traditional with a pinstripe and a block colour bonnet, inspired by Roger Rabbit's taxi. The interior was retrimmed in vegan leather and I sourced a classic wooden steering wheel from and old Jaguar. Once the restoration was complete, the vehicle needed to be photographed. After sourcing a photographer (the talented Michael Drummond) and planning the shoot including scouting for locations around Notting Hill and Westminster bridge I oversaw retouching and delivery of images then crafted these into a coffee table book to act as a talking point for PR purposes that was issued to our global distributors.
