ABOUT

A comic take on cookbooks and rebellious nod to the hipsters and health craze sweeping our cities. Gout is the disease of kings (King Henry VIII to be precise) and happens due to over indulgence. We've discovered quite a few people have this affliction and we're pretty sure they aren't kings, they're probably just eating and drinking really badly. The Gout City Cookbook is here to teach people how to indulge well! Luscious food is meant to be shared along with great fun and friends. My best mate (a brilliant chef) and I came up with this idea originally to share our recipes, humour and art with our friends and family, although we are now past mock stage and planning the food photography to take place in the next couple of months. The Gout city story is growing and the characters are forming personalities of their own. Watch out!
I created a character/pun chef to present each section of the cookbook. We follow the story of Abraham Drinkin' and his trusty friends and their culinary creations, at the end of each chapter the reader has an opportunity to create and hold a dinner party of their own with their friends, come up with interesting and humorous names for their recipes and post to our Gout judging panel in order to win some juicy prizes. I hope you enjoy discovering our friends, recipes, drawings and stories along the way with us.
